Introduction

The HPE Cray ClusterStor is a high-performance, scalable storage system designed for exascale computing, AI, and data-intensive workloads. It is primarily used in HPC (High-Performance Computing) environments, including scientific research, simulations, and AI training.Cray ClusterStor is Hewlett-Packard Enterprise’s entry-level storage series.

To help you get started, here is what you can do next:

Key Use cases

Discovery Use cases

  • It discovers the HPE ClusterStor components. following is the resource structure.
  • Publishes relationships between resources to have a topological view and ease of maintenance.

Monitoring Use cases

  • Provides metrics related to job scheduling time and status etc.
  • Concern alerts will be generated for each metric to notify the administrator regarding the issue with the resource.

Version History

Application VersionBug fixes / Enhancements
2.1.0This implementation introduces third-party CI alert mapping and OpsQL-based enhancements.
Configure alert mappings to target CI systems through the application configuration. After configuration, the system automatically forwards alerts to the corresponding third-party platforms and maps them to the specified CIs, ensuring consistent integration and efficient alert management.
Previously, resource filters in the app configuration required manual entry of resource core and custom attributes. With this enhancement, the configuration is moved to OpsQL-based filtering, where users can see the keys auto-populated as needed.
2.0.0
  • Changes to support HPE Cray ClusterStor E1000 Software Release Version 6.7.
  • Added metricGroup and Units as metric labels.
  • Revised metric values and their associated warning threshold (UNSUPPORTED, NON-CRITICAL, NOT INSTALLED, UNKNOWN, NOT AVAILABLE) and critical threshold (CRITICAL, UNRECOVERABLE) for hpe_cray_clusterStor_psu_State, hpe_cray_clusterStor_pab_State, hpe_cray_clusterStor_fan_State, and hpe_cray_clusterStor_drive_State.

Metric: hpe_cray_clusterStor_psu_State
Previous Mapping: The PSU state previously had only two values defined: OK:0 and NON-CRITICAL:1.
Updated Mapping: In the updated mapping, the states have been expanded and standardized to include: UNSUPPORTED:0, OK:1, CRITICAL:2, NON-CRITICAL:3, UNRECOVERABLE:4, NOT INSTALLED:5, UNKNOWN:6, and NOT AVAILABLE:7.

Metric: hpe_cray_clusterStor_pab_State
Previous Mapping: The PAB state previously included a broader set of values: OK:0, NON-CRITICAL:1, NOT AVAILABLE:2, NOT INSTALLED:3, UNKNOWN:4, UNRECOVERABLE:5, UNSUPPORTED:6, and CRITICAL:7.
Updated Mapping: This has now been standardized to: UNSUPPORTED:0, OK:1, CRITICAL:2, NON-CRITICAL:3, UNRECOVERABLE:4, NOT INSTALLED:5, UNKNOWN:6, and NOT AVAILABLE:7.

Metric: hpe_cray_clusterStor_fan_State
Previous Mapping: The fan state followed the same scheme as the PAB, with values defined as: OK:0, NON-CRITICAL:1, NOT AVAILABLE:2, NOT INSTALLED:3, UNKNOWN:4, UNRECOVERABLE:5, UNSUPPORTED:6, and CRITICAL:7.
Updated Mapping: The updated mapping aligns with the new standardized format: UNSUPPORTED:0, OK:1, CRITICAL:2, NON-CRITICAL:3, UNRECOVERABLE:4, NOT INSTALLED:5, UNKNOWN:6, and NOT AVAILABLE:7.

Metric: hpe_cray_clusterStor_drive_State
Previous Mapping: The drive state also mirrored the PAB and fan mappings, with values: OK:0, NON-CRITICAL:1, NOT AVAILABLE:2, NOT INSTALLED:3, UNKNOWN:4, UNRECOVERABLE:5, UNSUPPORTED:6, and CRITICAL:7.
Updated Mapping: This has been standardized to the same consistent scheme: UNSUPPORTED:0, OK:1, CRITICAL:2, NON-CRITICAL:3, UNRECOVERABLE:4, NOT INSTALLED:5, UNKNOWN:6, and NOT AVAILABLE:7.
